Little Island Beach Rules and Guidelines



  • Beach use is limited to LIBC members, their families and guests.
  • Identify yourself to the beach attendant upon arrival.
  • Make your families, guests and renters familiar with the beach rules and guidelines.
  • NO PARKING ANYTIME at the beach drop-off/pick-up area or on Little Island Road.
  • NO SMOKING at the beach.
  • NO PETS on the beach per Town of Falmouth Ordinance, May 1-October 1.
  • NO OPEN FIRES/FIREWORKS.
  • NO LITTERING - Carry in, carry out.
  • NO GLASS BOTTLES in the water.

    q Rules of the Road:
    • Vessel operators must follow the federal navigation rules for inland waters. (33 U.S.C., sections 2001 – 2073)
    • Swimming Areas:
    Operators are prohibited from operating to within 150 feet of shorelines used as swimming areas (swim area boundary as existing at low tide).

    *This includes the entirety of LIBC shoreline as well as adjacent private beaches.

  • HELP PRESERVE the dunes! PLEASE KEEP OFF and beware of ticks/poison ivy.
  • Respect the boundary of the Garland Property beach.
  • Be aware of small children and bike riders in the drop off/pick up areas while loading and unloading.
  • Maintain slow driving speeds on Little Island Road.
  • The beach closes at sunset - nighttime parties are strictly prohibited. Police/Security Guards take notice.
  • Please remove all belongings from the beach daily i.e. chairs, umbrellas, towels, etc.
  • SAFETY NOTICE:  NO lifeguards are on duty. Beach attendants are only responsible for verifying membership.
*The above beach rules and guidelines have been approved by the LIBC membership.
 
*If renting, please provide renters’ names to beach supervisor (via text, email) prior to renters visiting the beach.
